Windows update RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a WU error on one of our Windows 2012 R2 Servers, the error occurs when trying to install the October update roll up.

the error i receive is 8000FFF.

Fault finding so far, I have done the following -

    Restarted services

    Restarted Server

Renamed "Software distribution" folder and recreated

All other updates install ok including other monthly rollups

Any ideas how to clear this?

  • Hi,

    >>I have a WU error on one of our Windows 2012 R2 Servers

I'd suggest you check the following items (I assume the update source is WSUS server and only one 2012R2 server got this issue):

    1. check network connection between WU agent and WSUS server (also , port ; filewall;DNS config)

    2. check group policy settings of "intranet microsoft update service location"

    3. try to update windows update agent version

    4. run command " sfc /scannow" to check system files

    5. try to reset windows update agent

If the issue persists , please try to check "windows update log" to see if there is any clue after you click "check for updates" .

    Best Regards,
