add contentdb Sharepoint Services 3.0 RRS feed

Answers

  • it happened, when you trying to copy paste the commands from website/blogs.

Did you try to type the whole command itself. 2nd thing if you have powershell installed, can you try to add the db using the powershell or you can try it from central admin.

Make sure your database is not stopped/read only. check the health of the moved content db. Also make sure the permissions on the db.

    thanks

  • How did you bring over the database to this farm?

    • Database backup - transfer - restore?
    • SQL log shipping (initially in standby mode)?
    • Any other method?

Ensure that the SharePoint admin account has db_owner access to this database and try the stsadm command once again.

    One more question:
Does this content database contains any site collection that already exists on one of the existing databases?

    Thanks,

  • HI,

How you have taken the backup and moved the database?

Whether the account you are using to run the stsadm command has sufficient rights to carry out the same.

If there any version difference between two environments or do you have same managed path created ?

I hope this will help you out.

    Thanks,
