[Solved] freeDOS Install Windows 7 pro using pendrive but not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys,

My new laptop Lenovo G50-80 with free DOS and I wanted to install Windows 7 Pro 64bit by using USB pendrive. I can boot this pendrive in BIOS but when I go to Windows 7 installation > select language, time & currency & keyboard input method > Install now > then it show :

A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive. please insert it now.

And I can't found the pendrive drive if I browse it.

Below is the method I tried:

    • I tried to boot in Lenovo Z50 & Acer Aspire V15 Nitro laptop without any problem (These two laptop default is Windows 10).
    • tried USB2.0 and USB3.0 port
    • tried this but still no luck:

Anyone have any idea how to solve it? Thank you.

  • Hi,

I quite understand your issue. It seems that your installation image did not have a compatible drive for your machine.

We would like to suggest you need to download the installation image from the official website in the link below.

Wish you have a nice day.

    Best Regards

  • Hi Simon,

Sorry for late reply, at last I burn it into CD and it only worked, this is due to that laptop doesn't have USB port driver.

Thanks for your answer and have a nice day.

    Case closed. :)
