Shared files are read-only RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Windows 10 network (homegroup) with two computers: a desktop and a laptop. There are two user accounts on the desktop, and one on the laptop. All files on the two computers are "shared" with the homegroup. All shared files are read-only. There is no permission to: (1) save changes to files; or (2) save files ("save as") under a new name on the "computer of origin". This holds true whether files are shared between the two user accounts on the desktop computer, or whether files are shared between the desktop and laptop. I would like full permissions when working on shared files. Suggestions?
