Upgrade DPM 2010 to 2012 with 2 Existing DPM Servers

Question
-
I am starting my research into Upgrading DPM 2010 to 2012. I am comfortable with one exception. We have a DPM 2010 server at a remote location that backs up the primary. I couldn't find any documentation that addresses this scenario. Here are my questions.
1. Which server should I upgrade first?
2. Is there any danger of loosing the "backup chain" and having to retransfer more than 6 TB of data over a relatively slow and fairly saturated WAN link?
3. Any particular pitfalls that I should be aware of?
Thanks..

Hi Geaux-Tigers,
1. Always dump our local DPMDB using the CMDLET DPMBACKUP -db and copy the DPMDB.BAK file to a secure location.
2. Cancel the secondary DPM servers schedule jobs during the upgrade time window of the primary DPM server.
3. Upgrade the Primary DPM server
4. Upgrade the DPM agents via the primary DPM server console
5. Run a CC for the data sources on the primary DPM server
5. Upgrade the secondary DPM server
6. Run a CC for the data sources on the secondary DPM server.
Best Regards

Hi Robert,
Technet links specify that Secondary DPM server should be upgrade first ?
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh848288.aspx
I think you walktrough will work but maybe it's not supported by Microsoft.
Others technet links:
Upgrading from System Center Data Protection Manager 2010 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh848291
Post-upgrade steps http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh848282

This apply depending on your environment. If you have a large enterprise environment I should go for the secondary first but if you got a smaller environment you could upgrade the primary DPM server first since you don't want to miss any backups.
