Install MRO 3.3.0 on Fedora 23 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm trying to install MRO 3.3.0 on Fedora 23.  The rpm installs successfully, but I get the following error when I try to run the Microsoft R Open executable:

    [matt@localhost ~]$ R
/usr/lib64/MRO-3.3.0/R-3.3.0/lib64/R/bin/exec/R: error while loading shared libraries: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Does anyone know how I can find the shared libriary that has to resolve this dependency?  Is there another option for installing MRO?  Should I install from the tar file and compile the program?  If so, can someone point me to step-by-step instructions on how to do this?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi Matt,

Running MRO on Fedora has been really unsupported until now. That being said, we have verified that MRO 3.3.1 does indeed work on Fedora 24, so we think it should work fine on Fedora 23 as well.

So I would recommend that you install MRO 3.3.1 on your system.
