The device 'Msft Virtual Disk SCSI Disk Device' disappeared from the system without first being prepared for removal RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm backing up a Windows Server 2008 SP2 Hyper-V machine with DPM 2012 and I receive the following error in the Event Log. What to do?

    Thanks for any advice

  • Do you only receive these errors when DPM backs up the VM's on the Hyper-V host?  These errors typically occur when we lose access to the iSCSI target.  Do you see any targets in a disconnected state when opening the iSCSI initiator?

You may want to review 2473194 - "System Center Data Protection Manager 2010 Hyper-V protection: Configuring cluster networks for CSV redirected access" at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2473194 for best practices when configuring networks for CSV communication.
