How to install LLDP on windows server 2008( or windows 7 OS) RRS feed

  • Hello:

    I want to use LLDP on windows server 2008, but I don't know how to install it. I find that LLDP is exist in windows 10 OS, and somebody say that it is also exist in windows server 2012 and windows 8. So I want to know is there LLDP driver for windows server 2008 and windows 7, and how to install LLDP on these OS.

    Any help advice is very much appreciated.

  • I had read this guide, and I know LLTD has same feature with LLDP. In my requirement, I want to use SNMP get a host's neighbor information( there is LLDP-MIB in SNMP). Do you know how to install LLDP in windows7 and windows server 2008, because LLDP is exist in windows server 2012 and windows 8.

    Yes, the LLTD Responder component is included in Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista, and Windows Server 2008. You could enable or disable the LLTD Responder by using Group Policy. Please refer to the link below.

    Also based on my search, for enable LLDP on Server, you could try to use the LDWin tool. Please check the link below and download the tool.
