Open with Access

    Question

  • Read the below. Question regarding the deprecation regarding Open with Access. Will that be disabled as part of the removal of Access Services, or is Open With Access separate.

  • Hi,

Access service doesn’t affect Open with Access feature, which means that you can use Open with Access feature even if Access service is not supported in SharePoint any more.

    Thanks,

  • But when i switch to new modern UI, the Open with Access disappears. Thoughts?

  • Modern UI lists are more mobile friendly and a great experience when navigating Lists via the new SharePoint mobile app. To enable that there have been some changes in the design and the new lists do not have exactly the same options as are available in the classic look.

  • Hi,

Yes, modern UI doesn’t contain Open with Access feature now, which doesn’t mean that this feature will be disabled.

The retire of Access service won’t affect Open with Access feature, you can use this feature safely.

    Thanks,

    Dean Wang
