FIM sync users to separate OUs - attribute msExchOriginatingForest missing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,

I'm using FIM 2010 R2 Synchronization Service to sync users from two user forests to a third (Exchange 2010) resource forest. It creates disabled user accounts like it should, no problem there. Problem is; all users end up in the same OU while we would like to keep them separated, based on their originating forest.

I found this article: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/1006.how-to-provision-contacts-to-specific-organizational-units-based-upon-an-originating-forest.aspx. I followed it step by step but there's no msExchOriginatingForest attribute on  the configured attribute flow nor in the Metaverse attribute list. I did add it on the 'select attributes' page.

Then I saw that I don't have the Metaverse object type 'Person' but 'SyncObject' instead - 'Person' is not even in the list. This might be caused by the fact that I'm using the FIM code mentioned in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee861124 ?

Now my question is: can I manually add the attribute msExchOriginatingForest somehow? Maybe in the Metaverse designer? If so, using which parameters? Or should I absolutely use 'Person' instead?

    Any help would be appreciated!
