Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently updated my operating system from Win 8 to windows 10. Previously the Microsoft virtual wifi miniport was working fine. But after installing windows 10, i'm not able to install driver for that.

I have installed the latest driver for my wifi adapter - Realtek RTL8188EU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter

Tried these commands with administrator privilege.

    netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=ABCDEF key=12345678
    netsh wlan start hostednetwork

This driver was removed in Windows 8.1 due to security issues with ad hoc
    networks.

The "Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter" is missing from my device manager.

  • I have the same issue. How are we supposed to make virtual hotspot apps to work if the miniport driver is missing?
