  • the error is: Microsoft Lync has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

note: the pc just installed office service packs that could not allow us to reinstall a 64bit version of Lync

  • 1. Please try repairing the MS office, Please refer below link,

        http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/repair-office-programs-HA010357402.aspx

    2. Try opening Lync as administrator, Rt click on Lync and Run as Administrator and check

    3. Try updating Windows

    4. Try to boot computer in clean boot state,

      XP: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353/en-us

    5. If above steps didn't fixed, check below registry,

      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shared|UcClient

If "ServerUsername" key is blank, configure same as "ServerSipUri"

    6. Reboot and try logging to Lync.
