WIN XP TO WIN7 MIGRATION USEING SCCM 2012 SP1 with MDT2012 With total harddisk backup and restore should happen after reimageing every pc with 3 stadard partitions RRS feed

  • Question

  • Greeting to Everyone,

I have a scenario in my lab environment about Migrating Xp to Win7 using SCCM 2012 sp1 which is integrated with MDT 2012.

    Scenario:
    ------------
Irrespective of how many partitions present in the hard disk of every system ,total hard disk data backup need to be done to a network location and hard disk need to be re imaged with windows7 with 3 standard partitions and remaining configurations like -domain joining, Apps Installation, configuration...should be completed and then  total hard-disk backup which has been backed-up to network storage need to be restored without  data loss.

    Note:
    ------
If hard disk has only 1 or 2 partitions then what is the solution, then what abut the partition standards procedure while re-imaging with Win7 and also data restore.

If any one can help me to resolve this scenario and if anybody can suggest me proper TechNet article can suggest me it can be very greatful for giving support.

    Thanks & Regards

  • Hi,

If is just 1 PC, I suggest you using profile wizard instead :) it works well in migrating mails, and domain profile.
