Virtual PC 2007 control problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

When I install a OS in a newly created VM, as sson as the installation ask for user interaction, I do not seem to be able to use my keyboard or mouse. The windows acts strange. As soon as I click on a button on the screen, the cursor seems to stick to the top of the window. When I move the mouse, I seem to pull the image from the window downwards. There seem to be no way to get contol over the window at all. Using the keyboard in stead of the mouse gives similar results.

Installing the additions is no option, since I have no OS yet in the VM.

I tried reinstalling, installing any update I found... no result...

On other PCs it works fine. Only my PC at home does not seem to like Vitual PC too much. That PC is a Dell Studio 540, quad core 2.66MHZ, NVIDIA GeForce GT220 video adapter, normal mouse and keyboard (not wireless).
I use Vista Business, all updates installedwith Virtual PC 2007. The problem occurs for any OS in Virtual PC (I tried XP, Vista, Windows7)

Can someone give me some hints how this could be resolved?

    Many thanks!!
