MIM 2016 Password Sync RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear

We deployed MIM 2016 and we're able to get a set of accounts from our source forest and create these accounts in all our target domains WITHOUT using an extension DLL.

On the Agents, we enabled password sync, however, it’s not working.

So, is it even possible to create or configure a management agent to sync the passwords? I mean, do we have to implement something outside the scope of MIM in order to sync the passwords?

    Thanks for the feedback.
    Regards
    Peter

  • Hi Peter,

If I understand correctly, both of your MAs are standard Active Directory? If so, you don't need any DLLs to make Password Synchronization work and if you follow these steps to configure PCNS, you should have it running without any special DLLs.

  • Thanks for the feedback.

That was my fear, pff. Why do you have an Identity Management System and Synchronization Service if it does not synchronize? It's like ordering a car @ Audi and ordering the engine somewhere else before you can drive, while you just want a car.
