Microsoft Project Professional 2010: Actual Work Issue... RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

We a project, where we have created some tasks, but no assignments.

the other day, when we open the project, we see that ACtual work is not zero i.e. value with more than zero for these tasks.

I am not sure as to how there can be an actual work for a task for which no resources have been assigned.

Again, this project, is only accessible by me and no other project manager has rights to access the same.

Has anyone faced this kind of situation?

  • Did you update the project plan using the built-in update option for the project? Which project version you are using? Do you have all the latest SP.

  • Ganu, Do you have scheduled work against any of your tasks - even without any assigned resources. You can schedule work against a task by making an entry in the Work column in a Gantt Chart view - then when you update the % complete for the task, the default will be to update the % Work complete (and the Actual Work) as well.
