Terminal Server License error ID 4105 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Our domain controller (Server 2008 R2) is configured as the RD License Server, but we are getting the following error.

The Remote Desktop license server cannot update the license attributes for user "User" in the Active Directory Domain "domain.local". Ensure that the computer account for the license server is a member of Terminal Server License Servers group in Active Directory domain "domain.local".If the license server is installed on a domain controller, the Network Service account also needs to be a member of the Terminal Server License Servers group. If the license server is installed on a domain controller, after you have added the appropriate accounts to the Terminal Server License Servers group, you must restart the Remote Desktop Licensing service to track or report the usage of RDS Per User CALs.

We have verified that the DC is a member of Network Service Account and Terminal Server License Server group. On the RD Licensing Manager window shows a green check mark on the DC. On our Terminal Server ( 2008 R2) it shows the correct licenses that are available on the Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration window. It also reports that there are no licensing problems for the Remote Desktop Session Host server. We verified that credentials and also rebuilt the DB, but we continue to get the same error. The licenses are available, but they are not being issued.
    Thank you for help!

  • We have already done what the links stated to do. When we generate a report, the license server only issues cals for two of our Admin accounts. All other users are able to login, but no cals are issued. Any ideas what may be causing this? Thank you for your help!
