Hi there
I'm running Vista Home SP2.
Recently, on startup, my HP laptop screen has not worked properly - the screen appears as a grid of white pixels (which form swirling, morphing patterns). If I attach an external VGA screen I can see what is happening, and sometimes this causes both screens
to work normally, but more often than not the attached screen works in very low definition. Also, if I detach the external screen, the whole system crashes.
When first having those problems, I ran AVG antivurs, Windows Defender, Spybot Search and Destroy and nothing obvious turned up (just the standard tracker cookies). Cleaning those cookies hasn't helped.
I thought it might have been a video card driver fault, but reloading that has not served the issue, and since the screens sometimes used to work perfectly that seems less likely.
Now, I cannot get into windows at all. Startup Repair doesn't work, and I get the following error message:
Problem Event Name: StartupRepairV2
