Event ID 1000 Source Application Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • My customer has a Win7Pro  machine running in a VMware virtual environment. This is the only machine that encounters this error. The crashing application checks for report data from franchisee stores and when any is available, downloads it to the file/database server in another machine. The same application running in a traditional standalone machine never crashes and consequently gets this error.

I am not sure what is going in here but any help would be appreciated.

  • Hi,

According to the event log, the crashed app is TRIM.EXE, which is located in C:\trim-pos\flash\bin\TRIM.EXE.

Please try to reinstall this app and check result.

If no help, you need to ask for help from trim.exe's publisher.

  • Thank you for your reply Teemo.

We have uninstalled and re-installed the application several times. The developer is not being very helpful as he contends that the application was installed in an environment for whic it was never tested. I do understand his point and I am hoping to prove to the customer that forcing us (the reseller) to run the application on an unverified environment has led to a problem of the customer's making.

To this point, I was hoping to find other people who have run into similar problems with other applications to see if I can pinpoint what the cause for the crash may be.
