  • Hi,

    can't say I tried :-)

BUT. In 2012R2, Standard and Datacenter are functionally identical, you wouldn't be gaining anything by changing the edition. The only thing that comes to mind is AVMA. So if you'd like to use that, you have no choice but try. Otherwise, just (mentally) paste a Datacenter license on each box leave the installed edition at Standard.

  • In My Case, I just want to create more Virtual servers in cluster.

  • You can run as many VMs with Standard as with Datacenter licensed nodes. The difference is in licensing so you need to properly allocate Datacenter licenses to your hosts. But this is a paper workflow, not a technical one.

  • Technically, I want to know after changing the license from standard to data center, will it impact the cluster ?

Because i don't want to recreate cluster.

  • Hi,

It will not impact the cluster when changing from Standard to Datacenter.

    Best regards,
    Leon
