Maximized window not redrawing/refreshing RRS feed

  • Question

  • On one of the computers in our office, after about 6 hours of running one session of windows (xp, sp3) when a window is maximized or at above ~90% of the screen size, it will stop updating its contents.

It is most noticable in acrobat where the main part where the pdf is shown, if the window is taking up about 1/2 the screen it will show fine, but if you maximize it it will stop updating and show what was previously there (like when the desktop crashes and you can paint with an error window).

It also does it in other programs, Windows Picture and Fax viewer will give an error about not being able to display the image if it is maximized too.

I have tried completely cleaning out the graphics drivers (nvidia) and reinstalling them from fresh but that didnt seem to help.

I have also tried turning hardware acceleration down to see if that helps any.

    Any ideas?

  • Since you mentioned the graphics driver is nVidia, - check the IRQ's used if there is a conflict on the IRQ then this will happen (Device Manager > View > Resources by connection > IRQ)

    Good luck
