I'm attempting to install a Canon PIXMA MG3220 on my Compaq Presario c501NR laptop running Vista. The printer works, the scanner won't. I get message "An internal error has occurred exiting this software" when I attempt scanning. I
googled a fix that instructs to locate usbscan.sys to be sure it is there. There are six copies of this file in different file locations.
I also read some posts saying that this file is known to be an entry point for malware - one named symptom is that it eats up disk space - a problem I have and haven't been able to solve for a year or so now. With the programs I have installed,
I should have disk space.
Can anyone help me find the solution? Thanks in advance.
