Settings not syncing RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have two windows 8 machines, settings sync used to work great (wallpaper, tiles, folder options) but now I added another machine, and the settings are not syncing on it. I checked the sync settings, tried disconnecting it from my account and adding it back... nothing works.  To test I would change the wallpaper or a view option like "Hide system files" and check the other mahcine to change as it used to.. but nothing. Any way to further trouble shoot this?

    Thank you

  • Hi,

You can refer to this link to add your new device as trusted PC. After logging in with your live account and trusting the PC, the sync can work, you may need to restart PC or wait for a while to check the results.

Also, I would like to confirm what the system version of your new device.

I have to say that since changes happened on Windows 8.1, if your new device has Windows 8.1, the syncing can only work on appearance.

If the issue still persists, please upload the event log -> applications here for further research.

  • Where do I see them?  I think Microsoft changed this where you can manage the trusted PCs.

    See this/: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/what-is-trusted-device
