NIC Card not detected on Server 2012 R2 running Hyper-V

    Question

  • Hello,

I have a new  Dell T430 running Server 2012 R2 with HyperV. I physically installed a Dell G218C NIC Card as a my redundant NIC and the new NIC card is not showing in Device Manager. There is power to the NIC and I have the proper drivers to install.

Looking around the forums, I found a similar issue from 6 years back that suggests reinstalling Hyper-V,  but I don't want to have to do that just to make a simple network card work, and you'd figure there would be a fix 6 years after that original post. (Will post that thread in comments).

Has anyone else run into this or does anyone have any advice they can lend?

    Thank you.

  • I'd probably ask Dell about it. I was not able to find much in the way of driver support.
