Terminal server license question RRS feed

  • Hi,

    I've got a terminal server and 200 user license, but the server is a workgroup server, not member of the domain.

    The users being using RDP to connect and using the local accounts on the server to use the resources. 

    I'd like to add this server to the domain.  By doing so, do I need to disactivate and re-active the TS licenses? Once I add the server to the domain, then users can login using their domain accounts instead of the local accounts.  Is there a issue i will

    face if I do this?

  • Hi,

    There should not be any issue.  After joining the server to the domain please make sure you add the server's computer account to the Terminal Server License Servers group using Active Directory Users & Computers.

    After performing the above I would have several users log on using their domain accounts, and then verify they were issued RDS CALs in RD Licensing Manager as well as verify that there are no 4105 Warnings in the event log.
