SharePoint 2007 database migration to 2010 session failed RRS feed

  • Question

  • Greetings,

I'm currently in the process of doing a database test migration from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010 and have run into errors with ID's such as 1100x.

The dev environment setup is as follows-

    - The SP2007 is a single Windows 2003 server with SQL 2005 and SharePoint 2007.

    - The SP2010 is also a single Windows 2008 R2 server with SQL 2008 R2 and SharePoint 2010.

I did a Full Installation for SharePoint on both the servers.

I did run the 'prescan /c preupgradescanconfig.xml /all' on the SP2007 box before I backedup the DB and imported it to the SP2010 server.

I used the 'stsadm -o addcontentdb -url http://sitename -databasename DATABASENAME' to run the migration. The migration completed 100% but with errors. I am getting a login option to the site, but I haven't been successful in logging in yet.

Below is the list of errors from the log file. Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

  • Hey Ivan,

Thanks for taking the time and responding.

I didn't even take into account the version mismatch which definitely plays a big role here.

However, I did get my issue resolved. These errors I received were because there were quite a few sites that were deleted on sharepoint but still existed on the content database.

I simply ignored and moved forward.

  • Hi Dan,

The first thing is it looks like you are trying to Upgrade SP2007 Enterprise Edition to SP2010 Standard Edition..

As you can tell by doing a Search on the Web for the following Features by GUID

    065c78be-5231-477e-a972-14177cc5b3c7 BizAppsListTemplates
    8581a8a7-cf16-4770-ac54-260265ddb0b2 PremiumSite
    0806d127-06e6-447a-980e-2e90b03101b8 PremiumWeb
    2510d73f-7109-4ccc-8a1c-314894deeb3a ReportListTemplate
    4248e21f-a816-4c88-8cab-79d82201da7b BizAppsSiteTemplates
    43f41342-1a37-4372-8ca0-b44d881e4434 BizAppsCTypes

You also have the SharePoint Learning Kit installed on SP2007

    94362efd-5aba-4677-afb5-a23ad92802fd SharePoint Learning Kit

    and a Print List Feature

    769826dd-9dd2-11db-96ca-005056c00008 Print List Feature

And the Site Definitions you arte missing are from the FAB40...

You can NOT downgrade the CAL when performing and upgrade. In other words upgrade the SharePoint 2010 Farm to the Enterprise CAL. You can then install the SharePoint Learning Kit on SP2010, The print List Features and migrate the FAB40 so they work on SP2010..
