On ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe MB
1st attempt at in-place upgrade failed with blue screen on 1st reboot after loading crcdisk.sys. Tried a repair by booting from DVD but installation didn't appear in list.
Upgrade you chipset drivers to 6.65 and BIOS to 1016
Second attempt - got blue screen again.
Solution - go into BIOS and disable legacy USB support
It worked - rebooted and it completed the installation.
