SCCM 2012 SP1 - SQL 2008 R2 SP2 or SQL 2012?

SCCM Server: Server 2008 R2, MS SQL 2008 R2 SP2
During the install of SCCM SP1, there are these items that you are forced to accept to proceed:
MS SQL Server 2012 Express
[x] I accept these License Terms
MS SQL Server 2012 Native Client
[x] I accept these License TermsSo what is actually happening to SQL during this SP1 install? Is the server getting upgraded to a 2012 database? It's ironic to me as in the documentation MS states that you have to either: 1. "Be on SQL 2008 R2 SP2" or 2. "SQL 2008 R2 SP1 Minimum of cumulative update 6" IF 2012 is being installed, will both 2008 and 2012 be installed on the server? Thank you

SQL Server Express is a requirement for creating a secondary site; Primary Site would require SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2.

That's SQL EXPRESS which is used for secondary sites. Nothing will be happening to the SQL Server for primaries then.

... but not limited to that version / SP level. See http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682077.aspx#BKMK_SupConfigSQLDBconfig
