Disk Defragment during working hours RRS feed

  • Hi all,

    I need to run schedule to defrag the PCs during working hours, is there a technical problem to do that??

    Where there are some application being opened and used by users

  • Hi Ahmed,

    I don’t mean to toot my own horn here – but why would you want to run the built-in defragmenter in such a scenario? Doing this will really impact performance on these computers.

    There are third-party tools that will take care of the fragmentation on these computers without slowing ‘em down. Check Diskeeper - http://www.condusiv.com/products/diskeeper - it defrags only using idle system resources.
