  • I am also having the same issue, and neither of these solutions worked.  The .diagcab file was unable to fix the issue with that update and also said something about cryptographic something or other not registered...I will run it again and post the exact message.  The download link on the security bulletin page you linked just redirects back to the page and not to a download.

I'm very frustrated with this issue and it appears that it has going on for 10 months and Microsoft has not solved it.  It leaves me very dissatisfied with Windows and your company in general and will likely make me think twice about purchasing any other Microsoft products.

    Here are the results:

Problems installing recent updates:     Not fixed

         Repair Windows Update:     Completed

Check for missing or corrupt files:   Detected

Repair missing or corrupt files:     Completed

There were some other things that were fixed:

Some security settings are missing or have been changed

Service registration is missing or corrupt

    Windows Update error 0x8007000D

    Problems installing recent updates

    Problems installing recent updates

Cryptographic service components are not registered (it did not fix this last time but apparently it did this time)

On the next page however, it says:

Some security settings are missing or have been changed:   Not Fixed

Service registration is missing or corrupt:   Not Fixed

Windows Update error 0x8007000D:   Not Fixed

Problems installing recent updates:   Not Fixed

Cryptographic service components are not registered:   Not Fixed

Check for missing or corrupt files:   Detected

    Problems installing recent updates:   Fixed

    Problems installing recent updates:  Fixed

I am curious as to why it says many of these problems are fixed, but when I click 'next', it says these same problems were NOT fixed.  Something is seriously wrong with this tool.
