Tasks created in PWA are not visble in project schedule RRS feed

  • Question

  • In Project Server 2013 PWA in Tasks.aspx page
in the Ribbon there is an option "Add Row"->"Add A new Task"

After you add the task like this, you can also reassign the task to another user, and it will appear in his Tasks page. But this tasks do not become visible in project Schedule.

Only when you open the project with "Project Professional" these tasks appear there, so you can publish it back and they will appear in Schedule. Why don't they appear immediately?

  • Hi MOSSImprisoned,

You can republish the plan by clicking on "Publish" button in the Task Ribbon, which you can see once you will visit the schedule PDP in the PWA.

  • Because these new task requests need to ba approved by the PM before they are added to the plan. The plan must also be republished to make these tasks publicly visible.

The New Task/Delete Task etc. are simply Team Member requests for a PM action. The PM is still the gatekeeper.

    Hope this helps.

  • Treb,

With approval everything is clear, i just forgot to mention this step:

    1. User adds a task with "Add Row"->"Add New Task"

    2. PM approves it

and task is still not visible in project Schedule.

You say "plan must be republished" - here is the question - how to republish it without Project Professional involved. Is it possible?

    Thanks for help anyway.
