An unexpected error caused a failure for process 'DPMAMService'. Restart the DPM process 'DPMAMService'. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I had to migrate DPM from one machine to another.  I exported the DB, shutdown the machine, named the new machine with the same fqdn as the old machine, same IP address and everything.  Imported the DB using DpmSync but I am getting an error when I launch the manager UI.  It fails to start saying Unable to connect to dpm.domain.local 9ID; 948) Verify DPM service is running on this computer.

A check of the Services shows that DPM AccessManager Service has not started.  Starting it it turns off right away and the event viewer shows this error message.

The description for Event ID 999 from source MSDPM cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

An unexpected error caused a failure for process 'DPMAMService'. Restart the DPM process 'DPMAMService'.
