FAST Content Crawling Issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Everyone,

We have setup a FAST installation in stand-alone mode in a SharePoint 2010 box. A connector SSA is created and we tried to test the crawling to verify the installation. The crawling fails on both following scenarios.

    1. Added the local SharePoint site collection URL for the content source and started crawling. The crawling goes on for more than one day and never completes (Note that local SharePoint site is secured with both Anonymous and NTLM authentication mechanisms).

    2. Added a SharePoint site in another box as the content source. The crawling fails with following error.

Access is denied. Verify that either the Default Content Access Account has access to this repository, or add a crawl rule to crawl this repository. If the repository being crawled is a SharePoint repository, verify that the account you are using has "Full Read" permissions on the SharePoint Web Application being crawled. ( Error from SharePoint site: HttpStatusCode Unauthorized The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized. )

    * Note that the second site is secured with NTLM and full access is provided to the content access account.

    Environment Details:

    Windows 2008, SharePoint 2010, FAST Server 2010.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance,

  • Corey Roth has an excellent blog post about making sure the rights are set correctly which might help you.

Also, are you getting any information in the FAST logs, or when you run

    "Get-FASTSearchContentCollection" or "indexerinfo status"

  • Hi Amal,
