KB4486764 for IE 11 Windows 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

The patch KB4486474 released on Feb 12 2019 is for Win 7 and Win 8.1. However, we see that this patch is updated on IE 11 Win 10 PCs and we are facing some issues after this IE 11 update on Win 10 PCs. Please assist how the patch which is not applicable for Win 10 got installed. I could not find in the history or installed updates as well. ALos, please guide on how we can get this update KB4486474 removed to revert it to previous IE 11 update.

  • Hi,

It looks like the same fix is included in the february CU for Windows 10 https://support.microsoft.com/sv-se/help/4487026 have you deployed that to your windows 10 machines?

  • As Jorgen notes, all IE updates in Win 10 are part of the normal, monthly cumulative updates -- that's the whole point of the CU model.

You cannot remove this "update" to IE in Win 10 without also removing the entire CU.

Also note that this has nothing to do with ConfigMgr -- it's still the delivery vehicle and doesn't in any way define or dictate anything about these updates. The details of these updates and why you should or may want to install or uninstall them is better addressed in a Windows or IE forum.
