How to export from Project Online to on premise Project Server 2013? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Anybody can tell whether it is possible (and the steps) to export everything from my tenant in Project Online (including anything, newfeeds and any records in Sharepoint team site) as a backup?  And whether (and the steps) this backup can be used to import to a clean (or un-clean) instance of on-premise Project Server 2013?

  • Fluentpro (fluentpro.com) makes a tool that will move your configuration settings, and there are a number of vendors that make tools for moving content in SharePoint. At the moment, you'll need to move the projects manually, but I think someone will come up with a tool for moving projects eventually.

  • Gary.

In fact we have tools for moving the projects with all custom field values as well, it is called Project Migrator for Project Server 2013.

Together with FluentBooks it allows to move both configuration and data.

  • I would never claim this to be a solution on par with FluentPro, but here's some quick and dirty VBA script to export/import projects (but not settings or custom fields):
