  • How was the farm account farm password updated? What steps did you take?

  • It was update through Central Admin

IIS Pool Passwords were reset manually once again when then the project was having issue being edited.

  • Hello,

The farm account is normally updated via PowerShell as the Central Admin site is normally inaccessible once the farm account password is changed in AD... Other managed accounts can then be updated via Central Admin once it is accessiblee.. Maybe something hasn't worked correctly in your process - did you test this on a test farm first? Typically this is the process I have used before:

    • plan an outage on the farm
    • update the password in AD for the farm account
    • use the PowerShell command (or STSadm) command to update the farm account password
    • test the farm

  • Hi Paul,

For SharePoint, Project server 2013 farm, using STSAdm alone would be enough? Secondly, my farm is working ok, project sites are ok, it is just that the Project info update save gives error "Unknown error occured" and log show what was shared in first post.

  • To update the farm account yes STSadm is fine. If this stopped working after only changing the farm account password then that has to be the issue? 2 errors relate to SQL, has anything changed on the SQL server? You don't use the SharePoint farm account for the SQL service account do you? Did you test this process on a replicate test farm first or straight to production? Did you see the same issues there?

  • Nothign was changed at the SQL level, only thing that was updated was the FARM account PWD. After wards the save issue started appearing for projects for all users. Logs popping shared errors... l

  • Might be worth setting the farm password again using PowerShell or STSAdm.. Worth a try as things aren't working at the moment..

  • Well, FARM is working just few services are throwing error, and main issue is popping with Project server pages.
