Hyper-V VHD won't boot due to DEP (But its enabled?) RRS feed

  • Question

  • So, I have spent a bit of time on this to no avail.

I have created an image of my corporate laptop using DisktoVHD, and VHDResizer to make it a reasonable size...

I can boot the VHD in native mode but if I try to boot it from within Hyper-V I get the "Virtual Machine 'X' could not be started because the hypervisor is not running.". I have verified multiple times that DEP is enabled running the WMI Query "wmic OS Get DataExecutionPrevention_SupportPolicy" and getting the resultant "1" which means it is AlwaysOn. Anyone who can help remediate this issue would be greatly welcomed! Hyper-V is being run on a Dell Latitude 6320 with an I5 processor with Hyper Threading enabled along with VT Technology..
