  • Hi,

Using the File System MP and was wondering why under State View, the File Shares, Folders and Files, all have a Not Monitored state beside them, even though they are discovered. Is that normal?

  • Check out the guide for more information.  If I remember right, that MP defined some entities just to let someone know they are part of the discovered data.  I don't think there are monitors on files, or folders.  I believe shares should be monitored - but look in the guide.

If there are no monitors that target a specific class, and that class has no roll up from other classes (dependency monitors) then it will show up as the white circle.  There may be optional configuration steps required to do share monitoring (only some shares are important, after all), so you should look carefully at configuration steps in the guide to see if there is anything you need to change/configure to get optional monitoring scenarios turned on.
