  • Hi,

    Thank you for the post.

Use mpcmdrun command to check the FCS definition. By default FCS policy, FCS client check updates every 6 hours via scheduled tasks. You could view the task when you checked view hidden tasks in Advanced menu.

    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Forefront\Client Security\Client\Antimalware\MpCmdRun.exe" SignatureUpdate

  • Hi Rick,

    Thanks for update.

I tried as you suggested .

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Security Client\Antimalware>mpcmdrun -signatureupdate

     Result :- Signature update started . . .
Signature update finished. No updates needed

    Please suggest..

  • Hi,

It means FEP client has latest definition version and no new update exist.
You could test remove all definitions or update definition from MMPC directly.

    MpCmdRun.exe -RemoveDefinitions -ALL
    MpCmdRun.exe -SignatureUpdate -MMPC

  • Hi,

You need to run command to query defintion version from registry key AVSignatureVersion. The command like:
    reg query "\\computername\HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Antimalware\Signature Updates" /v AVSignatureVersion
reg query "\\computername\HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Antimalware\Signature Updates" | find "Version"

    Regards
