Office for MAC RRS feed

  • Question

  • Why is it that Office is so watered down for MAC? A couple of examples - Outlook, READ RECEIPTS.. It's not a MAC thing, it's a Microsoft thing - Thunderbird and others have this feature - damn, even GMAIL when routing through their mail servers has it! Business card view in contacts? How had is it to build that into outlook as a feature?

I have just spent $$$ on buying full versions of office 2016 for our business computers as well as purchasing 365 exchange server and after the sales pitch that took me away from my previous setup, I am sorely disappointed in the features missing.

  • Hi,

Thanks for your feedback. We understand your inconvenience about some unavailable features when using Office for Mac. The Business card view in contacts is a good and convenient feature to view Contacts which is supported in Outlook for Windows. Unfortunately, in Office for Mac, Read Receipts and Business card view features are not available currently.

Office for Mac is a product that Microsoft wants to provide new versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote that have been thoughtfully designed for Mac. But comparing with Office for Windows, some features are still not available and not perfect on Mac.

Please be assured that any improvements in the product are based on users' requirements. Our developers strive to capture Microsoft users' ideas and are working hard to create a more powerful and easy-to-use product.

Additionally, to request this feature, please visit the Outlook Suggestion Box to leave your feedback. The Outlook team is actively monitoring this forum.
