SharePoint : disaster recovery issue, cannot restore the backup file to another version, then how to make another server same as PROD? RRS feed

  • Question

  •

your backup is from a different version of microsoft sharepoint foundation and cannot be restored to a server running the current version....

i've checked the PROD server status and installed all patches listed in the PROD.

But it turns out that this error is always there.

Could somebody help to give me a guide about how wo let two servers be the same or a way to solve such issue?

Your help and insight is highly appreciated.

  • Hi Lefei Li,

Please post SharePoint 2010 related queries in SharePoint 2010 forums.

You can not restore latest backup files from SharePoint / SQL to old one, though you can restore old version files to latest version.

Make sure backup file version and existing environment version should be same.

  • hi pratik,

    thanks for your reply.

Make sure backup file version and existing environment version should be same.

i know it which is required by sharepoint strategy.

I am just stuck in how to make existing environment same as PROD. is there any idea?

I've installed all patches listed in PROD, but the error is still there.
