Importing licenses into Asset Intelligence for non-Microsoft products RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was able to create a csv file and import the license for our braille translation software, but it’s not apparent where the license is exactly. I ran the License 15A - General license reconciliation report. It shows the license I imported, but I don’t know how to associate the product name I created in the license (Duxbury Braille Translator) with the associated inventoried software name (DBT 12.4). My hunch is that the name field in the csv file needs to match the  product name found in inventoried software. But assuming I imported bad license info, I’m not sure how to remove it so I can give it another go.

  • if I remember right, everytime you re-import the cvs, it overwrite everything. And yes the names MUST match perfectly.

  • Thanks. Is there a way to delete/remove the license info I imported since I didn't get the Product name correct?

  • As I said, if you re-import, it will overwrite everything.

  • OK - thanks. I tried the import again with the correct name and it did overwrite. Looks like I'll need to get all of our non-MS software listed correctly in single csv file and then do the import. I was assuming I could import individual licenses each with their own csv file but it does not appear to work that way.
