SCCM Event Viewer Errors RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello I am getting the following errors on a fresh install of SCCM 2012 R2.  The SMS Agent Host (CcmExe) keeps stopping.  Do I need to apply CU3 Updates?  Thanks.

  • While applying CU3 can't hurt and could possibly address the issue, you've most likely got something else going on here.

Is this happening on all clients?

  • This is a brand new install.  I haven't push out or configured anything else other than the prerequisites.  I was just wandering if this is normal.  I'm going to apply the CU3 and see if that helps.  Please let me know if you have any more thoughts.

  • No, definitely not normal -- in fact, I don't think I've ever seen the client agent crash repeatedly. If it continues, you may need to open a call with Microsoft Customer Support Services as there's no way for us in the forums to figure out what is causing it. It's almost certainly something unique on the system itself like your AV product or even malware.

  • Thanks.  I haven't even pushed the agent out to the site server itself.  This server is in a disconnected environment.  I can't figure out why this would happen before I even configured SCCM.  Do I have to setup any IIS configurations?  Thanks.

  • As Jason said, a call to Microsoft Support is probably in order; however, before you do that, review the Supported Configurations guide and make sure you ahve all prerequisite roles, features, and software in place.
