Multiple SSPR Portals? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Is it possible to have different SSPR Portals in the same FIM deployment?

For example, one SSPR Portal for staff, where they would require the FIM client and be presented with one set of SSPR Questions.

And another SSPR Portal for students, where they dont need the FIM client, and be presented with a completely different set of SSPR Questions? Perhaps running on a different URL to the staff Portal?

lastly, is there something about an internal (intranet) vs external (Internet facing) SSPR Portal capability?

    thank you,

  • You don't need to deploy different portals -- you can supply them different questions using the same portal by  setting up multiple workflows (MPR's etc).

    Just follow the steps for

Configuring password registration and reset for multiple languages

    found here:

What these steps show you how to do is to present different question sets to different sets of users. In their example it is for people speaking different languages for you it is a difference between staff and student.

  • Thank you David, that answers the first question.

What about the second question relating to having different Portal for intranet users vs Internet users...can we use the same Portal, and simply publish it with something like UAG?

  • Shim,

Sorry that I didn't see your response for so long.

Yes you do want to setup a different instance of the Password Portals for Internet users so that you can install them with the switch saying that it is an Internet server which means you can add a OTP gate to the AuthN workflow and you can mark it so it will only apply to those accessing the Internet published SSPR portals.
