If/Then Formulas with wildcard RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am trying to do an if/then formula in a Custom Column with a wildcard but can't get it to work. The Custom Column dialogue says I have no syntax errors, but I don't get the correct results. It only fills in the column with the Else statement.

Here is my formula: =if [Business Title.Business Title] = "Dir,Temp%" then "DTA" else "."

There are a number of different combinations of the Dir,Temp name which is why I am using the %.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance,

    David

  • Try this:

    = if Text.StartsWith([Business Title.Business Title], "Dir,Temp") then "DTA" else "."
