SharePoint central admin not finding users/roles when connected to different sql server RRS feed

    Can anybody tell why SharePoint central admin is not able to find users/roles when connectionString on IIS was changed to different server and database.

     

    I have aspnet_regsql.exe configured for different server and database and the database and sharepoint admin has all the permissions required to connect to the database.

    Did you make sure that the appPool identity account for Central Admin has access to the ASPNETDB database on the new SQL server.  The connection string connects to the SQL server as the app pool identity, not the sharepoint admin.
