Skype for Business integration with OWA 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys,

I need to integrate SfB with OWA 2010 and I know it's supported:

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj688055.aspx

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj721919.aspx

    I have followed these steps:

    https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/canberrapfe/2013/03/04/using-im-and-presence-in-exchange-server-2010-owa-against-a-lync-server-2013-front-end-pool/

But integration isn't working and I think it's because I can't get CWAOWASSP.msp patch version 3.5.6907.202 or later. I am using 3.5.6907.57 because I can't apply this update, url isn't working...

    Thanks!

  • Thanks Guys!

After apply CWAOWASSP.msp version 3.5.6907.202 still didn't work... Checking the articles againI realized the fqdn that use the Trusted Application on SfB should be the same in thecertificateSN... So... I realized It could be the wildcard certificate we are using and immediately I found that for OWA/Lync integration Wildcard is not supported.

    Thanks again!

  • Hi Dario

    Welcome to our forum.

Except for the version of CWAOWASSP.msc, I will add:

    1. Update Exchange 2010 and Skype for business to the last
    2. Run the command “Get-OWAVirtualDirectory | FL *instantmessagingcertificatethumbpint*” to make sure match the correct certificate thumbprint.
    3. Then, after assign the correct certificate thumbprint, don’t forget to reset IIS by “IISReset /Noforce”
    4. After adding Exchange as trusted application, please make Lync topology has been published again

If you have done above steps, please collect the following log to us for troubleshooting:

    1. Enable IMandPresence log as the link which you are referencing
    2. Check if there are any related errors in application log on Exchange server and Skype for business

If there are any questions or issues, please be free to let me know and we will pleasure to help you. If the above suggestion are helpful to you, please make it as answer so that someone who has similar issue could find this thread as soon as possible.

  • Thanks Jim!

We are using a Wildcard on Exchange and we fixed this issue using an internal certificate for IM. More information:

And you can find more articles searching.
