Project Server 2013 - Project Site Task RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

In project server 2013, project site there is a task list which shows the project schedule tasks where it is not allowing to edit. In project server 2010, we can use the task list to add non project related tasks and track. But in 2013 it is not allowing to edit the task list. How can we add the non project tasks and track.

    Thanks in advance, Taj

  • Hi Taj,

Indeed you cannot edit the task list from the project site, this is a read only list for team members. Project tasks can be edited from the schedule PDP (after having opening the project from the project center), not from the site.

You can always create a new task list in your project site (or in the project site template) and log on project activities. Note that you should name the list with the first letter coming after T in alphabetical order because Project will sync the project plan with the first task list found so if you name this new task list "Activities" for example, Project will try (and fail) synchronizing the project tasks with this new list.

    Hope this helps,
