SQL Server Version value results RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I am using Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit version 8.0.5427.0 to inventory our SQL Servers.  I noticed that the SQL Server Version values in the SqlServerAssessment Excel spreadsheet frequently do not match the actual version number on the server itself.  For example, I have version 11.0.3339.0 on a server, but the value for that server in the spreadsheet is 11.1.3000.0.

It does not seem like this is an Excel formatting issue because I see the same values in the the SqlServer_Assessment.SqlIntances table in the MAP database.

Are there any settings that I am missing to get the SQL Server version values to match?

  • I have this issue also running MAP

For 2008 R2 servers MAP is reporting 10.53.6000.34 however the actual version is 10.50.6220.0

    running the SQL

    SELECT SERVERPROPERTY('productversion'), SERVERPROPERTY ('productlevel'),
    SERVERPROPERTY ('edition'), @@version

    returns... 10.50.6220.0     SP3    2008 R2 (SP3) - 10.50.6220.0 (x64)

However I notice in programs and features it is reported as 10.53.6000.34

I'm guessing the 6220 includes the security updates and the 6000 is the base version installed.

Is there someway to get this fixed so as to report the current running versions.
