Can I switch from Internal Relay to Authoritative for my domain? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I converted last year from Groupwise to Exch2010 running on Srvr2008r2.  I did it slowly rather than all at once.  The way I did it was to have all email come into the Exchange server and on the .com domain under Hub Transport/Accepted Domains.  I made it an internal relay domain.  It then relayed emails for my users that weren't on exchange to the GroupWise Internet Agent.  I am now at the point I can kill the GWIA since everyone has moved, so does anyone know if there is any problem wih just changing the .com selection from Internal to Authoritative under the properties dialog box?  Will it require a reboot or anything?  Thanks for your help!

  • You can just change it, no reboot required.  The only thing that will stop is shared address space mail delivery for any recipients that do not exist in your Exchange org.  If you have completed your migration then this will not be an issue.
